(20). We have agreed to pay Mr. Jones' expenses in attending the meetings of the Advisory Committee and I am asking the Crown Agents to send him a draft meeting the account which he has sent us.

The recommendations of the Advisory Committee as given in their final report behind (19) have been embodied in the Directive on education prepared for the guidance of the Chief Civil Affairs Officers in Hong Kong and Malaya respectively. A copy of the report has also been sent to the Asquith Committee and it may be assumed that they will give it due consideration in their own recommendations. The only remaining action is to ensure that the report is available when the time comes to consider the rehabilitation of the university. A new file has been opened bearing this title and a copy of the report behind (19) is registered on this file 55213. This file may, therefore, be put by.
